  3. ^C36The ^C33^C1BiModem ^C0^C36File transfer protocol is now available on the BB.

  5. For the benefit of those who do not know ^C1^C33BiModem, ^C0^C36it is a new program
  6. which permits the transfer of files in both directions at the same
  7. time.
  8.  
  9. The amazing thing is that not only does it manage to transfer files at
  10. a slightly faster rate than Zmodem, but you can also chat to the Sysop
  11. via a 'split screen chat' facility at the same time!

  13. Given the same size of files to be uploaded and downloaded, the total
  14. time taken to transfer all the files in both directions will be
  15. slightly less than it takes to transfer the files in only one
  16. direction using Zmodem.

  18. Not only that, but comprehensive file recovery facilities are provided
  19. in the event of a failed download and the protocol can be configured
  20. to verify and/or update any existing files of the same name at the
  21. destiniation.

  23. A further feature is that you can create a file list containing the
  24. names of the files you want to Upload and Download before going on
  25. line and once the protocol is activated, all files are transferred
  26. automatically.

  28. Provision is also made to let you specify which directories should be
  29. searched for the specified files, allowing you to state the names of
  30. files to be downloaded, even if they are in different file areas.

  33. couple of special programs to optimise the use of ^C1^C33BiModem ^C0^C36with
  34. both programs and these are available to registered users of ^C1EaziLink ^C0^C36
  35. and ^C1EaziHost.^C0^C36
